The main function of Building Control is to ensure that standards of building, within the Borough, meet the requirements necessary to protect the health and safety of everyone, whether at home, work or leisure
It is the statutory responsibility for Local or Fire Authorities to satisfy themselves that the storage of petrol is maintained in a safe manner and that such storage is licensed if more than 14 litres (3 gallons) is kept. The Building (Local Authority Charges) Regulations
A Revised scheme of charges has been made by Milton Keynes Council in accordance with the above Regulations, which came into operation on 1st April 2007.
The scheme may be inspected between 08.45 and 17.15, Monday to Friday at building control MK, Civic Centre, 1 Saxon Gate East, Milton Keynes MK9 3HH
The Service objective is to implement provisions aimed at protecting the health, safety, welfare and convenience of persons in and about buildings and structures and to conserve energy. Petroleum licensing inspections and general fire safety also form part of wide ranging responsibilities.
