Following the elections two members of the Liberal Democrat Group have declared their intention to serve as Independents on Milton Keynes Council.

Elections - Electoral CommissionThe Elections and Electoral Registration department is responsible for the preparation and conduct of all elections which take place within the Borough of Milton Keynes.
We also update and maintain the Electoral Register.

You must be on the Electoral Register to exercise your democratic right to vote in any election. Every time you move you need to update your details on the Electoral Register. Paying Council Tax does not automatically add you to the Electoral Register.

If you are a citizen of a European Union country, other than Britain or Ireland, you can register to vote for local government and European Parliamentary elections only. How to become a Councillor

For someone to become a Milton Keynes Councillor, they must be nominated for election. Whether standing at a full Council election or at a by election, a person must be suitably qualified to become a candidate for election as a Councillor.
