
As per The Freedom of Information Regulations 2004, the Council has to provide 18 hours of time (£25 per hour) to respond to a request free of charge. Above this the Council's policy is not to respond to requests.

Although a much of the information the Council holds is of a general nature, there are many filling systems and classes of records that relate to individual people. The Data Protection Act 1998 (PDA) requires that information about an individuals is kept confidential, unless that person has given permission for it to be disclosed.
