2009 was a great success. Dates for 2010 are 9th to 12th September.

All over the UK, towns and cities take part in Heritage Open Days every year to highlight what there is to see and learn about heritage and culture in their local area.

Milton Keynes Council Heritage Unit and its partners are bringing you a wide variety of walks, talks, visits, exhibitions and activities, taking place on 4 days 10th-13th September 2009.

The Leisure, Learning and Culture (LLC) division is responsible for leading a wide range of leisure and cultural related services within the borough of Milton Keynes. The services involved are largely delivered in partnership with a range of external partners whether within the private, voluntary or charitable sectors.

"Getting Milton Keynes more active more often"

The Milton Keynes Sport and Leisure Strategy 2009-2014 examines the current sports development issues in Milton Keynes. It then goes on to identify the future demand for leisure facilities and playing pitches in the area and explores how these should be provided in order to try and address the issues arising and to increase physical activity amongst all sections of the community. Cultural participation is where people of all backgrounds come together with shared interests and passions. Together with the environment in which cultural activities take place, culture includes all the things that define our lives, connect our communities and us and represent the values we pass on to other generations. Milton Keynes Council, together with its development partner SDC, is now progressing to the next stage in "Building a Better Bletchley" This vitally important mixed-use regeneration scheme has been developed in partnership with the Bletchley Development Board and English Partnerships.

Building a Better Bletchley

The project comprises the re-landscaping of existing public open space in Emerson Valley to create four sports pitches one with limited floodlighting and a baseball pitch with cage and is supported by a two storey pavilion building with adjacent car parking and associated external works. Milton Keynes Council Children & Families Information Service (CFIS) has a list of activities for babies, toddlers, young people & families.
